Yesterday (Nov 28, 2021) six of us journeyed out to Schaub Lake for the primary reason of the maiden flight of Tom Rainwater's beautiful Spitfire. Tom was concerned about the flight as the Spitfire required an excessive amount of nose weight to get the proper CG. His concern was justifies when the spitfire was in the air. At one point into the flight the Spitfire dropped the right wing down and began a stall type spin. Tom gave the airplane opposite full aileron and opposite full rudder and the Spitfire responded by stopping the spin and Tom thankfully had enough altitude to level out and prevent a very bad crash. The six of us in attendance were two from BAM (Tom Rainwater) and (Dana Dinius) two from Redmond (Bob Ingraham) and Rick Burgess) and two of us from La Pine, (Ron Grigsby) and Yours Truly, Jim Young
